Just seen these sniffer bees on the One Show.... WTF!
(Link doesn't work, but the men in white coats have developed bees that can detect bomns and drugs)
Is there anyone here from Doncaster way? Haven't got a link but heard that there is going to be a minimum charge for alcohol of £1.20 so that if the pint costs £1.85 the half or third will cost £1.20 whether it be in a pub, restaurant or wherever, and it will affect Doncaster beer fest.
Responsible drinking!! Who will pay £1.20 for a half or third when the pint is only £1.85 as it is in some of the Doncaster pubs apparantly.
Doncaster was the first area in the country to adopt the BBN (Best Bar None) scheme and the results of this were used in the Home Office Consulation document on Minimum Alcohol Pricing.
But as far as I'm aware the Home Office aren't looking to pilot the minimum alcohol pricing in Doncaster.
In fact Sir Liam Donaldson's report was rejected by the government a couple of years ago.
Having said that the Swift One blog has the same story.
