I'll kick the month off by nominating The Walpole Arms , an interesting, if somewhat foodie pub, in a part of the country not well represented on this (or any) site.
A trip to Burton provided my POTM, although its had some negative comments I was particularly taken with the Coopers Tavern
Eagle Ale House Top notch boozer.
The Chequers,an unexpected gem in Stevenage and a pub which proved that it is sometime worth going in a Greene King pub when on the look out for decent ale.
For me it's The Cross Keys Inn
Had hoped to see Runningdog in there, but he seems to have gone a bit quiet lately.
Post Office Vaults in Birmingham. Enjoyed 4 new cask ales, and a couple of very good Clown Shoes bottles from USA.
POTM: The Guide Dog in Southampton.
Some interesting pubs that were new to me last month:
The Garibaldi in St Albans
The Devonshire Arms and The Three Cups in Bedford
The Old Gate and the excellent Fox and Goose in Hebden Bridge
My pub of the month was the even-better-than-that Masons Arms in Todmorden. A very good range of well kept and mostly local beers, a roaring fire on a chilly evening, and quite clearly an asset of value to the community which it serves.
My pub of the month goes to The Parcel Yard a really nice station bar,one i could settle in for a good session.
Although I have not rated it highly when I reviewed it the more I visit The 3 Johns in Islington the more I like it.
Yet to visit The Bedford ,but it has a pretty good name for decent beer.
My pub of the month is The Duke Of Wellington in Shoreham. I've never been here before either as a Dark Star, large pubco or big six brewer's house. It's quite dog-eared and tatty inside and out but sells great beer. There's not much else I can say really.
Finally managed to get out to the Garden Gate in Hunslet, a fantastic heritage survivor.
Hugo's at the Coast
I was quite taken with this Fitzgeralds pub, Pleasant & efficient staff & good beer.
A few good ones for Feb, here goes:
Queen Adelaide very good with a great choice of beer, one to really settle down in
The White Lion
The Victoria Works
But this one beat them all, lovely traditional welcoming pub
Weighbridge
