Marstons Old Empire IPA*
Oakham Bishops Farewell*
Milltown On with the Motley*
Henry Smith English IPA*
Tough call as all four passed the 3 pint test with flying colours.
BOTW Henry Smith English IPA. A new brewery for me and this 5%er was exactly as named.
Hoxton
Timothy Taylor -- Landlord
Five Points -- Best
Beavertown -- Gamma Ray (keg)
Siren -- White Session IPA (keg)
Five Points -- Pale (keg)
Sharp's -- Doom Bar
Uninspiring and with several pubs only offering a single handpump with London Pride I was forced down the keg route where BOTW goes to Siren White Session IPA in the Barley Mow.
Next week footie so much depends on the guest ales in the 'spoons.
Captain Cook Brewery - Skippy.
A shame I was driving... :(
Real ale seems to have almost died out in London; your above stats don't surprise me. The Express is doing sterling work with all ten working, but the Cock in Hackney only has about three out of 16 and the last time I passed the Jolly Butchers in Stoke Newington, seven pumps were down to five with just one working!
My BOTW (in fact only BOTW) was a great pint of Five Points Best at the Star by Hackney Downs.
The Harp was up to speed on the beers but the quietest I've ever seen it at 11.30 on a Saturday lunchtime.

The London real ale scene has taken a battering. The Cask in Pimlico is regularly down to just three ales, and I hear much reduced ranges at Craft Beer Co. in both Leather Lane and High Holborn.Their outlet in Old Street is now a cocktail lounge. The drift towards keg pre Covid has turned into a tsunami .:(
It did pick up a bit, this picture was taken exactly an hour later.

Much as Bucking Fastard found, I was forced onto keg through lack of cask in some venues in London, though in the main good keg. Cask quality was mixed but provided BOTW in the form of Howling Hops Lock The Gates, a really tasty pale ale enjoyed in The Harp.
