I'll be in The Fox, Tamworth for the England game. They do have rather nice large TV Screen.. only problem is crampiness of room, seating around 30 to 40.

Public bar in the Flask, Hampstead... Landlady has reserved it for my old man and his mates who are regulars.
I will be getting thrown out of a pub somewhere in Aberdeenshire for wearing an England shirt!
Not sure where I will be but I'm sure I will be drunk ! Does anybody think we can win it ??
Del.
This is the first run up to a World Cup where I have thought that we have no chance - So yes, we will probably win!
I shall be sleeping off a lunchtime CAMRA meeting, if I make it home.
If the flight is on time i will be in a bar in Anaxos on the Greek Island of Lesvos ...... the birthplace of lesbianism
Her father's coming over from France, and that's the night they decide to go to friends for dinner & catch-up, FFS!
I've got a family wedding that night. :(
I shall be in Bath for a mate’s stag weekend. We’ll have won loads of money at Bath races during the day and watching the game in whichever of Bath’s pubs is big enough to take us all  . Front runners are the Assembly, the Pig & Fiddle or the Ram.
It's my wife's birthday. I wonder if she'll want to celebrate it watching England play in the high class environment of the Earl Beatty?
So Rex, do we presume your answer to be 'The Earl Beatty'?
Nope.
fyi, I noticed the Wibbas Down advertising coverage 'with sound'(!), and they do have 18(?) handpumps, ... & spoons do great deals on champagne.
Nope.
If unsure, click on Conrad's predictor-member-view ;) to find our where you'll be, come the 19:30 witching hour...
Dead right Trainman. I really don't think that I could inflict the Wibbas Down on a Saturday night on my wife, especially as she would be singularly unimpressed by the 18 handpumps they have there. I reckon my best bet is to stay in, with me cooking dinner. To celebrate her birthday I could drink the bottles that my chum brought over from Chicago for me recently - Flying Dog Brewery "Raging Bitch"; Dogfish Head IPA; and Stockyard Oatmeal Stout. Hmm, this may not end well.
It's my mates Wife's 50th on that Saturday night, and England taking part in some kick about in Africa didn't have any negating effect on her demanding a party..
Fortunately, after some negotiation, his golf club was accepted as a venue on the basis that it has a big plazma and any other screen free venue could not guarantee our presence..... and his come to that !
We will be in Belgium. Looking forward to the second week when we will be in Holland. We were there when world cup was on once before and the atmosphere was brill, and everyone including shops got behind their team with the orange makeovers.
Stepson.."Are you coming for the England/ USA match ?"
Arkright.." If I am invited and your buying the beer then Yes "
Stepson.." Course your invited , you senile old duffer. You are the one doing the barbacue "
No respect for maturity some people, but he does buy best quality sausages and the beefburgers I will make myself. AND he has a 50" inch plasma.
I'll be anywhere without a telly until July 11th.
I'm just hoping that an England game doesn't clash with anything at Wimbledon that will get people commiting merry hell over the TV remote.
Don't worry Scotland is out of Wimbledon
It will be first time since 1998 I won't be watching footie in town so I'll settle for my local instead for few reasons..
1) no queue for toilets
2) no waiting time for my turn to buy a pint
3) Save my money on taxis and bus
4) forced to stand in already full room (Happened to me few times in 2006 World Cup)
5) Best of all.. I can walk to home while drunk safely. The Fox being mere 5 mins walk from my home. If in town it would take me half hour!
I was in a pub the other day, which was advertising table service during England games. I have never understood why more pubs don't try this. It would surely attract customers from other pubs showing the football, and apart from anything else, probably significantly increase the turnover per hour.Quote:
2 no waiting time for my turn to buy a pint
Well I'm going to be on holiday in Padstow, so need to work out the best pub to visit.
Just been looking at the latest photo of the London Inn. There is a sign outside advertising the 5 St Austell ales it has on, including Duchy and Cornish Cream, neither of which I've ever tried. Sadly a little more research suggests that neither is actually being brewed any more. :moremad:
i will be in the pub, as i will be for every game - got every afternoon off for two weeks! cant wait.
not sure, yet, Hoppy, but will be - i know we will be doing Abbots Bromley one of the days, Mrs Soup is driving!
i think you are thinking of Abbots Bromley - i dont know of any in Kings Bromley - anyway - will et you know
Did Blithbury and Hill Ridware the other day - so getting through the Rugeley ones
i have to de-do some of the town pubs - but they are pretty bad on the whole
Just to give paraise where its due - i was forced into a Spoons in Solihull yesterday, as a part of a stag do - and it had a MILD on cask and keg, both of which were drinkable - its not the assembly rooms, but the other one
