In any other month, it might have been the Cambridge Blue or the Free Press (also in Cambridge), or possible the Greyhound or Ye Olde Rose & Crown (both in Stafford), but for a wholly unexpectedly pleasant find, I'll nominate the Dog & Fox in Ashley (just beyond the outskirts of Bradford-on-Avon).
I know London Calling will likely disagree with this,;), but an early Saturday evenining found The Wenlock Arms full of a fantastic ambiance and good beer to boot.
Most definetely POTM despite some very good pubs visited this past month.
Pint Shop
It won't suit everybody, but I really appreciated the beer range on my visit.:nishelypished:
I disagree.
Leicester Arms Hotel Last pub of the year for us. Hotel really, the name says it all, but dogs and drinkers welcome , and well kept beer. A find.
My pub of the month is the Beacon Hotel in Sedgley, an old favourite and I'm sure known by most of the correspondents on this site. I got here just after midday on a Saturday in early December and as the only new pub I had planned was just across the road had time to find a spot at the back of the right hand room and stay for three, a Green Hopped Pale, their winter Snowflake and a bizarre guest in the form of Brass Castle Pale Stout. The Jolly Crispin and Britannia in nearby Upper Gornal are strong competition but the Beacon keeps on shining.
