Just at the moment, I would happily pop into any of these delights for a pint!

The Queen Bess looks like a betting shop.
Just two for me:

Just the one for me, with no drugs involved: The Shakespeares Head, EC1 behind Sadler's Wells. I remember having a couple of pints of Abbot Ale in here late on a Sunday after a gig at the nearby Lexington and chatting to some old-boy local. A fairly amiable chat got onto the fact that he owned a "shooter". I made a swift exit at the next convenient moment...
Surprised the Festival Inn hasn't been on my rader before; with only one PuG review, looks like it hasn't been on many others either.
Just two for me,The Shakespears Head,Leicester on the PuG crawl and the Samuel Whitbread ,Leicester Square back in the 70's.I recall being served a pint of London murky well before hipsters had been invented,and being informed by the barman "that's how it should be ". Never went back.
This won't help as you weren't at Leicester but I'll put it out anyway;

IIRC the "bromance" was based on a shared love of the rollup.
I was on that Leicester crawl in March 2013, but I'd already done the Shakespeare's Head with some of my Luton Town mates a few years before (August 2005, I think, but this was before the days when I would obsessively write down all my pub visits in a notebook), so I formed a breakaway group, consisting of me and Quinno, and we went to the Bridle Lane Tavern. On emerging from the pub we somehow walked the wrong way and got incredibly lost and after half an hour found ourselves back at the Bridle Lane Tavern and had another beer. We didn't catch up with the rest of you at the Salmon until two hours after we had left you, having done just one pub.
