The easy winner is the Neepsend Chinook IPA. Judging by their strong stout and this one they seem to be another great brewer from Sheffield which must surely be the brewing capital of the UK. I had the Chinook on the Thursday night and sadly it had all gone by Friday night. Both were tried at the Lion & Key in Hull for £3.50 and the stout also in Walter's nearby.

Pretty average sort of week, with nothing to set the heart racing.
Rudgate - Lollihop.

Brown Cow - Thriller in Vanilla.
Surrey Hills - Greensand IPA.
Five Towns - HB.
The Ghost Ship just edges it.
I've tried four of their beers now - Blonde, IPA, Solaris and Stout. Whilst the Solaris was very good and the stout decent, I thought the Blonde and the IPA were disappointing. For me, it's a bit early to call the brewery 'great', but it's certainly one to keep an eye on.Quote:

A close decision, the Titanic Stout is a favourite but this week BOTW is Siren Proteus Vol 3 V1
Very dull beers whilst ticking pubs around Wandsworth/Putney from Youngs-Guinness -Youngs-Youngs-Shep neame-Timothy Taylor-Black Sheep-Wadsworth.
Very good Big Smoke -solaris in the Express Brentford was BOTW. Had some great perry and cider in the new Stables pizza and cider bar in Brentford .But its not beer.

Couple of good 'uns this week (starred), but the gong goes to a 'boring bitter', which was probably the best-kept beer I encountered last week, sampled at The Plough in Wheatley.

Norfolk, Essex and that Lunnon:
Wolf-The Hops 4.2%abv: Very pale,grassy hops,stone fruit. I think this was a house beer at White Hart Hotel
Jo C's-Norfolk Kiwi 3.8%abv Breckland pine.
Mighty Oak-Oscar Wilde Mild 3.7%:Lovely luscious southern England style mild.
New River-London Tap 3.8%abv:Very pale, fresh on, but little condition.Reedy hops.
Hammerton-N1 4.1%abv:Pale, hoppy 'n' hazy.
Truman's-Zephyr 4.4%abv: Light brown, hoppy 'n' hazy.Salty, like Adnams of old.
Redemption-Hopspur 4.5%: Good solid best bitter/pale ale.Peppery hops.
Close run thing between Mighty Oak, Hammerton, Truman's (never thought I'd say that) and Redemption, but my BOTW is Truman's Zephyr, which had a lot to interest me.
