Brewdog Birmingham

Brewdog is meant to be opening a new bar in John Bright St, Birmingham City Centre.

I am curious to try this new bar, which, according to the publicity, was due to open 'at the end of August, 2012'.

Having visited the Victoria, at the end of John Bright St, several times during August, I have seen neither sight nor sound of a new Brewdog pub.

The Bright House has had a refurb, could this be it?

Can anyone shed any light on when, where, or if this new pub is due to open?

We have raised this a few times but I haven't heard anything since. I was going to have a wander along John Bright Street and Hill Street during my lunchbreak on Wednesday but I got laden down with potatoes from the fruit market.

Maybe I will get chance to investigate next week.

There was no sign of any activity on 29 Aug when I was last there. Like I say, I know the Bright House has been refurbed. That is the only new thing apparent in the area.

There are plenty of nice old buildings in John Bright St that would be ripe for conversion - especially the large building that looks like an old Victorian school or hospital. Even the old Futurist Cinema deserves a better fate than its ended up with...

Anyway, off to Walsall shortly to have my haircut and a pint in celebration of the end of my holidays!

Looks like they put it where they initially intended to!

Still, walking down there, no signs of it opening and August is nearly over.

Apparently they are aiming for a November opening.

I had been wondering about BrewDog Bristol too and found this on Twitter

I have never been in a brewdog pub yet either, and will give the Birmingham one a go when it opens. Can't see it going on my regular pub run though if it is like the others we hear about, but you have to try them at least the once.

That's the spirit Gill :) . I sought out the one in Manchester when I was there in July, it wasn't easy to spot until I was right outside it.
