Call me old school, but I like to find flavours and aromas derived from malt,hops , yeast and water,rather than bits and bobs of other stuff.

Some beers just have chocolate malt which gives a dark colour and an aroma of chocolate but lack the sweetness of the real stuff.My son likes the sweeter real choc beers so is pretty miffed when its just the malt.Chocolate is an expensive additive to beers so some add sugar to them to give the sweetness.Apparently Timothy Taylors add sugar to most of their beers and I do find Landlord a bit sweet.
