Off to Whitby soon where there seems to be loads of pubs.
There are a few on my list to do but, as always, open to suggestions.
Cheers,

These are reckoned to be the best
The Black Horse
Little Angel Inn
The Waiting Room
some like Middle Earth Tavern but for me it promises more than it delivers, The Endeavour up the street is probably a better pub. Over the bridge The Station Inn isn't bad. I haven't been in The Green Dragon but it might be fun. Arch & Abbey could be open by now as well.
If you want to try the local beers, The Pier Inn has a house beer which is from Whitby Brewery; the brewery tap is worth a visit but closes at tea time. I like the Black Horse because of its preserved interior - front bar only, the back bar is a sympathetic but modern creation - but the beers are nothing special, in my opinion. The Board Inn along the road has good quality beers if you don't object to Theakstons. A couple that I regretted missing when I was in Whitby briefly in March (as well as the Little Angel, the Station and the Waiting Room, mentioned by OB) would be the Elsinore, which seems like a good locals pub with mainstream beers, and the Jolly Sailors, a Sam Smiths pub on the harbour.
Heading to Whitby this coming weekend, this thread has come in very useful. Yes, I know it's Goth Weekend...
Nothing wrong with Goths!
The Quirky Den has opened since my visit. Looks good to me.
