Probably most of interest to those near London, given the distribution of Nicholson's pubs, but they are currently running a 'Cask Ale Collector Card' promotion - buy nine pints and get your 10th pint for free. Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, as they used to say...
The small print on these cards says "Only one drink can be purchased per person per day" which presumably means that they will only stamp the card for the first pint. However I've found, in this and the previous promotion, that many staff are not aware of this and will stamp the card with each pint. Do be aware of this though and, if you are staying in the same pub for more than one pint, it's probably best to try get to get served by different bar staff and don't walk up to the bar with your empty glass. I've not known anyone add a date to the stamp, some pubs only initial them anyway.

None of the Nicholsons pubs we visited yesterday offered us a collecting card.
I think I've only ever been offered one in a pub where I was a regular. You can usually find them in a small display box sitting on the bar, maybe behind it, and can be confused with those cards trying to get you to fill in an online survey about your visit.Quote:

By the way, I found out that you can't use a 'Cask Ale Collector Card' in Scotland - "against the law" apparently (as it might encourage binge drinking, or something...).
Does anyon eknow where there is a list of Nicholson's pubs? I tried their website but it doesn't provide a simpel list without faffing around.
