Far from the Madding Crowd - Oxford

I know that lots of Pubs Galore users have visited Oxford in the past and will have been to this pub which has 3 times been voted the Oxford CAMRA pub of the year during its 13 year existence.

Sadly the owner, Charles Eld, former chairman of Morrells brewery, has announced that the pub is to close this weekend. A very big loss to the Oxford pub scene particularly because FFTMC always provided a selection of unusual ales to the locality. It is not known whether or not the pub will reopen but given that it is located in a shop unit that would seem questionable.

I never took to the pub on my only visit( though I seem to be very much in the minority) , maybe I caught it on a bad day as I didn't rate the choice of beer or quality, I gave the pub a miss the next time I went to Oxford, It is however sad to see any pub lost.
