Durham and Newcastle

We are staying just outside Durham and will be catching a bus tomorrow into Newcastle where I hope to visit 2 GBG pubs that are new to me, LYH which has no review, and Lloyds No 1 Mile Castle. Will also do the more well known GBG pubs in Newcastle.

Durham has 5 GBG pubs I have not been to before, so hoping to get round Bridge Hotel, Colpitts Hotel (Sam Smiths), Court Inn, Head of Steam and Old Elm Tree. Will do them Wednesday or Thursday as we move on again Friday.

If you do get to The Court say hello to the landlord Harry (Walker) for me.

I stayed at the pub many times when it had letting rooms and also had quite a few pints & whiskys with Harry whilst I was there.

We'll be there ourselves in April. :cheers:
