Were they any good before the SAB Miller/Anheuser Busch /Asahi Brewery ownership saga? My sons drinks in The Greenwich Union which I believe Meantime still own but says little about their beers.

So, it's Black Sheep night. But first beer out of the traps is York Yorkshire Terrier 4.2% - from Black Sheep. This is now brewed at Masham, of course, after Black Sheep acquired the stricken York Brewery in 2018. It is a separate entity, though, and the Black Sheep website has some stuff about finding a site for the York Brewery back to where it once belonged (Get Back Jojo).
Next was Black Sheep Ale 4.4%, which is similar to Black Sheep Best Bitter. I think both of these beers suffer from too harsh a dose of carbon dioxide; or it may be that this style of beer hasn't got the flavour to override the CO2. Looking forward to the Riggwelter 5.7% next, and will round off the evening with the Imperial Russian Stout 8.5%.
And now for something completely different ... Howling Hops Lost in Control 8.2% .A collaberation with Pressure Drop ,a Double IPA with Idaho 7,Cryo Citra,Sabro and Galaxy hops.Deep bitterness but not extreme and lots going on tastewise.Colourful can too,9/10

A very pleasant trip round some Yorkshire breweries, beers curtesy of Ilkley, Saltaire and Roosters, I also travelled north and enjoyed a drop from Durham Brewery.
... for which I can blame the loosening of my normal restraint and the consequent little rant I've had on the Random News thread. Please give it the consideration it deserves.
