I can't let the festive season pass without nominating the formidable Dark Star Imperial Stout. This year the local Rose and Crown had two casks, one delivered in 2015 and one delivered in 2014 and stored in the cellar. I tried both and the old one seemed to keep it's condition marginally better but I wouldn't be able to tell which was which. It was £4.50 a pint this year that still seems like very good value to me. The Brodie's Black APA and Hop Studio Obsidian provided very stiff competition.

Some wonderful beers ,with special mention to the Siren Craft Pompelmoccelo which turned out to be the perfect palate cleanser for BOTW Dark Star Creme Brulee ,both on top form in The Pint Shop, Cambridge.
Next week a visit to Berko and Tring may start the year off well.

Some good beers but the easy winner is Siren Craft Counting Vampires a delicious Blackberry IPA enjoyed in the Euston Tap.

Star of Wonder was a decent stout, but I'm not sure whether it falls into the Christmas beer category.
