The foto of da group 😀😀😀
Got back home about 20 mins .had a couple of pints in the euston tap.great to meet you guys again but will post tomorrow about what I thought of the day
Good photo. Glad you managed to get together again. I called it a day after the Colmore, but got down to the Lamp Tavern before going home. Ray had an interesting day on his own. From the Wellington he got to the Colmore and Post Office Vaults. Walked up to the Craven Arms then checked the Victoria on his way back down but it was closed. From there he walked down towards the Lamp Tavern calling in the Dragon JDW, and noticed that the Sly Old Fox was closed. He went to the Lamp Tavern and the White Rose before going home. Not a bad day out.

Great to see everyone yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed catching up with old friends.
Thought the crawl itself was a bit chaotic but didn’t personally care because this one was more social event than serious pub and beer ticking for me.
And in the cold light of day I am a bit amazed we all managed to be in the same place at the same time for a photo, and in a Thornbridge pub as well, who would have thought 🤣
Also quite surprised I did as many pubs on the day as I did with some good new ones for me. Also thought the quality and choice of ale was good also, but then I do like Oakham and the T Brewery…
I’m sure it will be discussed but I did miss a timed running order and would like to see this back for the next one.
I'll second that emotion.
I went outside for a fone call and said feck I'll get on the train, I'd been up since 1230 that morning ! A great catch up. Did Ray ever pay for a bus or a tram or are him and Jacinta thumbing for a lift home on the slip road of spaggetti junction as I write ??? :D
Great day apart from me and Steve unable to find the station and platform in time for our allotted train :moremad:, managed one an hour later without extra charge but to late for the last train out of Basingstoke, so a £25.00 taxi home.
Managed seven new pubs from the 10 I visited so not bad but gave up note taking at an early stage so any reviews will be sketchy in the least, The Bull probably being my favourite.
Already looking forward to the next one.
Great to see everybody after a near two year hiatus, and hope you all got home safely. Some fantastic new pub visits ,the Plus Bus ticket option really came in useful........if only I knew where the buses stopped in the city centre. :o
See you on the next one.
Looks like a great day out. Really disappointed I couldn't make this one - the only Friday in October I couldn't do
I'll look forward to reading the reviews - always love drinking in Brum and it sounds like there are a fair few new places to check out since I was last there. Hope I can make the next crawl, wherever that might be...
Well I thoroughly enjoyed the day, meeting friends old and new, visiting pubs familiar and new, and achieving a different beer in every pub with only one slightly duff one. An excellent range of pubs and beers - come to think of it, I don't believe we actually visited a pub serving Doom Bar!!! Much looking forward to seeing everyone again on the next one, or possibly some mini-crawls before.
Meanwhile here's a few random pics:

I learned several interesting things in the Burning Soul Taproom, having turned up an hour before opening time due to contradictory information from various online sources, but the duty manager / brewer kindly humoured me and was happy to serve a pint as he got the place ready before coming over for a chat.
In particular, after mentioning the earlier stop by one of the groups at The Bartons Arms, he advised that this is no longer owned by Oakham since they recently accepted an offer from the team managing the pub and kitchen. However, that brewery's ales will still be a regular feature I understand, but with more guest beers in the future (e.g. the pair from Froth Blowers available when we called in).
i had a great day in Brum. Thanks go to Nev for guiding us around. After the Colmore i decided to tick a few pubs that you guys have done.
Wellington nice pint of blue monkey
old joint stock -very nice darkstar equinox
post office vaults -halfs of kinver and twisted wheel again nice
briar rose decent half of a printworks beer
shakespeare -as i sat drinking my half of black sheep bitter i realised i had had enough so why was i drinking this distress purchase.Caught an earlier train ,slept for most of the 2hr journey and was fit enough to have a couple of pints at Euston.Impressed with Birmingham itself ,liked the pubs and that mirrored facade on the train station was superb. cheers john
Great day out on Friday and especially good to meet up with old friends and new after nearly 2 years of restrictions.
I thought the route was great and it made a interesting change to tour some of the less central pubs rather than sticking to the mainstream. As John said, thank you to Nev for tour guiding duties.
A Truly Magical DAY !!! as always on our meet ups, cheers everyone.
Does anyone remember when our splinter went to the Black Eagle, well the former pub on the corner the Soho Lounge is on here today and the grub looks scrumptious. The barman in the Black Eagle tells me it's theirs as well. And second edit- Purity UBU and Mad Goose in great nick on.
