The Plough in Tyttenhanger, Herts. Still surprised mine was only the second-ever review on the site.
The Lyric Impressive for the area.
Despite having visited several great pubs since day 1 of the month it still has to be the Coopers Tavern in Burton. I'd only really heard of this place from references on the Dark Side. I've got it earmarked for a return, especially as the return journey involves Derby Station!
Agreed to a point. It's only a couple of minutes off the A414 but unless you have a "des" it limits what you can enjoy and the bus timetable is too infrequent for those looking to stay longer, which does make it off the beaten track, access-wise. Funnily enough, I only stumbled across The Plough after reading Steve of N21's review of The Barley Mow...
The Moorbrook Tavern, Preston. A fairly late discovery for me after moving here in June, glad I found it. Excellent cask, keg, music selection, decor, vibe and outdoor wood-fired pizzas!
The Dog Hangs Well at Ludlow.A Parlour Pub and the antithesis of most pubs I've been to. Very limited hours, one beer at a time (and a Cider), but it works for me.
The Mansion House
Oakham Ales in great shape with a daily happy hour (sic) from 5pm -7pm with all ales £3 and then a permanent 10% off with a CAMRA card, meant quite a few Citra's flew down at £2.70.
Now that's real value.
