We mentioned schöps beer in a post about the beer war of 1380 ages ago (http://boakandbailey.com/2007/08/11/182/). This week, we came across another titbit from Baedeker’s Northern Germany (1893) in the entry for Schweidnitz (now Świdnica (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%9Awidnica)):

As Evan Rail (http://twitter.com/#!/evanrail) incubates grodziskie (http://barclayperkins.blogspot.com/2007/12/grodziskiegrtzer.html) yeast in his fridge; and Ron Pattinson and John Keeling brew Fuller’s beers to recipes from the archives (http://www.fullers.co.uk/rte.asp?id=377); does it matter if beer is all played out (http://beerblog.genx40.com/archive/2011/august/aftertesting)?
We think these folks (http://www.schoepsbier.de/schoepsbiere/index.html) are brewing and selling a version of schöps… can anyone with better German than us confirm that?
