Does anyone know roughly, how many Wetherspoon pubs are there in England?

I treid that. Trouble is, every time they open a new one you have to start from the beginning as I lose count. Then I have to stop because the CAMRA vouchers have run out.

I've done 131 including 6 that are now closed. I would imagine I will be having a few breakfast pints in the Glasgow & Edinburgh 'Spoons later this week.

Since I started counting, 136 proper 'spoons plus 28 Lloyds No1 bars. 3 are now closed.

Just the thing for me to do next wet day in the caravan. I'll get my directory and pub list out and see how many we have done. Off to catch the bus for the Egham fest in a bit, and may nod off when I get back, but will put it on my "to do" list.

Mr Spoon (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/~ccaajpa/pubs-spoons.html) seems to have it all covered.

After a rough count I estimate that I've been to 55 plus 3 closed ones. I don't purposely seek them out so any I visit are just by chance during a crawl of the area.

I never try to seek out spoons but they are handy for a breakfast and early morning drink, and also if i am running out of proper pubs to do.

I have now done 105 spoons, the only one that i know has closed is the one in Barnet.

I always have Spoons on my crawl list as they make a good reserve and of course offer cheap nourishment along with a decent pint - if I do it, great. If I don't, then no tears.

No idea how many I've done but I'll hazard around 50...one day I'll get all my pubs on a proper spreadsheet or summat so I can do filtering to answer these kind of questions!

I have the 2010 Wetherspoon directory, and have spent the last few hours going through my excel pub list to check them and have 110. Any we have been in for a meal only are not included as my pub list only contains pubs I have had a drink in. I was quite impressed as before I started I thought it would be in the region of 50 - 60.

Just checked the JDW online directory and I'm a bit surprised to find that I've done 106, two of which are now closed.

I thought it would be a lot less than 100.

Sorry to bump this old thread but my Dad has done all of them apart from a couple of air side airport ones and recently opened ones/pending opening. I now know where my addiction/OCD to completing things comes from.

In comparison to him I'd say I've done approximately 40..... but then I don't get free train travel anymore and nor am I retired.

That's a really impressive achievement, :notworthy: tell him to keep going.

The Watchman will be a new one opening this spring in the former New Malden Police Station, now there's a change of use for you!

Oh dear - that makes me a bit of a lightweight at 42.

That's a very helpful list. Just finished counting,a paltry 37 but maybe that's a good sign ;)

I've done another 5 since my last count which puts me on about 63.

27 but three of them were just to eat breakfast - no beer drunk. I didn't usually get rid of all my CAMRA tokens until one opened nearby last year.

At the last count (which is now a bit out of date), I had visited 157 'spoons and 28 Lloyds No. 1 bars.

I would also add that I don't recall having a single 'off' pint from Wetherspoons in 2011 - with the worst being a few which were just a bit out of condition. (However, I have already had a dud pint in the early days of this year...).
