I have been scratching my head about our listing for Quarry Garth (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/6497/) near Windermere, as I know this part of the world pretty well and I was sure there is not a pub along this stretch of Ambleside Road (A591). I am going there next week but I thought I'd just do a Google maps virtual tour of the area first, to save time. I've found this image (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Quarry+Garth+Ambleside+Road+Troutbeck+Bridg e++LA23+1LF&hl=en&ll=54.398274,-2.93335&spn=0.006883,0.013797&sll=54.429529,-2.965107&sspn=0.006878,0.013797&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=54.398364,-2.933466&panoid=4M1QDC4Rf4jrr7vs96Gi4Q&cbp=12,65.81,,1,12.27) on street view, which looks to me like the name plate of this (former?) country house hotel (http://www.hotfrog.co.uk/Companies/Quarry-Garth-Country-House-Hotel). Whatever it was, it is definitely not a pub.
