Hello there,

I'm working on a TV programme about the pub industry in the UK and especially in Wales over the last couple of years. We're trying to find good landlords/ladies who can talk about their triumphs and struggles in the pub world over the last couple of years. We're also looking to feature a pub that is about to close down so that we can talk about the effect it will have on the community, jobs and any clubs/ societies that can no longer meet there etc. If anyone knows of any pubs that are about to close down please can you post the details here so that we can feature the pub in our programme.

Thanks very much!

You could do worse than start with The Vulcan Hotel (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/45849/) in Caerdydd which developers have been trying to demolish (and so far been unsuccessful).

Thanks for suggesting The Vulcan - Unfortunately I have already looked in to that and it's on a rolling lease for the moment - who knows when the developers will have their way and take it down. For the moment though the The Vulcan is fighting on and doing good business!

Unfortunately the first a lot of locals know about impending closure is when the shutters go up, or the landlord / lady does a runner, pubco forces entry etc

I can think of 3 in immediate area where there was no warning, just closed

One you could keep your eye on is Crows Nest, Horndean (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/14089/)

Still open, just, application to demolish & build houses rejected by Havant Council
