Had a great day in Penxance yesterday. Selected 5 pubs in the town that had no reviews, one of which needed a photo, added a Good Beer Guide pub, then went on to the Star at Crowlas. Not a bad day. Reviews and photos will go on later, subject to remaining connected.

Fountain Tavern - St Austells
Farmers Arms - Sharps and Skinners.
White Lion - Youngs and Courage.
Humphrey Davy - St Austell
First and Last, GBG pub - Bays, Skinners, St Austell and real cider.
Lamp and Whistle - St Austell. Great pub recently re-opened after about 5 years closure.
Star Crowlas - 4 Penzance beers and Sheffield Brewery.

I thought I'd covered most of Penzance in 1 marathan weeks drinking a couple of years ago! I remember the Farmers and the White Lion - all the signs suggested steering well clear. The Lamp & Whistle would have been closed when I was there and had been closed for some time - I assume it has now reopened.

I don't think the Lamp and Whistle had been open long and looked a bit of a trendy bar, but was very clean and tidy with excellent beer, even if it was only Tribute.

Would go back in the White Lion but give Farmers a miss next time we are there.

Off to go round the 300 now and do the Good Beer Guide pub in Botallack, Queens Arms.
