The Kings Head in Kettlewell in Wharfedale has been duplicated (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/29753/) in the nearby village of Kilnsey. This appears to have resulted from an error on Google maps and the wrong postcode. I have checked with Royal Mail which confirms my own recollection that the Tennant Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/53983/) is the only pub in Kilnsey. Can you please delete the duplicate Kings Head.

Thanks

Hi sheffield hatter,

We have duplicated The Kings Head listing. Once again I feel the need to defend Google maps, they aren't used for allocating areas - that bit is all humans.

Thanks for that.

Conrad,

I wasn't attacking Google maps - I think they're great! I was just stating the fact that the Kings Head appears on Google maps in the wrong village with the wrong postcode, and this is probably why it was duplicated in PuG. (Almost certainly human error, though.:))

Cheers

I didn't think you were getting at Google maps particularly. It is just there seems to be a creeping perception that Google maps are used in ways that they aren't for our listings. We use them to geocode postcodes (get lat/lng coordinates on a postcode) and do address lookups for the festivals. And we anticipate stopping both these functions in the future.

The key point here is that I think we are lucky to be able to use Google maps in the way we do, and I don't want to create any idea that we are misusing them.
