A few in Liverpool;

http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/58741/
http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/26549/
http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/26591/ (the picture shows it as "hotel")
http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/26795/
Unless it's changed recently this one http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubpictures/26876/ isn't known as Shenanigan's pub although it says Irish Bar on one side.

There's a couple more say "pub" after the name but apart from the Richmond Pub (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/56531/) which is definately called that, I can't say for sure.

Couple more offenders:
http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/5182/
http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/8490/

Also, postal towns Hayle and St.Ives have each generated an area called 'Lelant', so you have two separate areas in the system, both called 'Lelant'. Could you just combine these to make one area for Lelant?

Thanks

Trouble is that there a few which genuinely have 'Public House' as part of the name - ususally the sort of place that bears as much relation to a real pub as most 'public schools' have to the local comprehensive...

The Frog & Parrot (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/43177/) is now calling itself "Frog & Parrot the pub" on all its signs. This seems a bit naff to me, and so unnecessary too - it's not as though there's another Frog & Parrot in Sheffield that is not a pub - but if we're following the "what it says on the tin" criterion, then I guess it needs changing.

I find that quite funny. I am going to use the exception that proves the rule clause on this and give some waffle about it being in a smaller font. Maybe I should put it in brackets after the name to avoid confusion, since they seem to feel the need.

I have the horrible feeling that this is the work of a branding company gone wild.

I am actually torn on this one it does feel wrong to add it because of the smaller font though, gah.

You know, 7 months on and over 1000 posts requesting corrections later and strangely this has absolutely no context for me.

I am assuming from my phrasing that my decision was to add the pub suffix, but I reserved the right to retract that decision, then decided not to bother. As it is clearly stressing you though we have now reverted to Frog & Parrot (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/43177/) :).

I hadn't given it another thought myself, it was only when I was thinking of writing a review that I noticed you'd added the suffix after all, so I looked up this thread. You might be interested to know (possibly not) that at night the Frog & Parrot is well lit but the pub remains in darkness.

Thanks for the smiley.
