I used to live next door to this pub in 1999-2000, but I see that it's now been coverted to flats. It used to be the away fans pub when Swansea still played at the Vetch and I don't think the place ever stood a chance once the club moved to their new ground.

Hi Pubsignman,

We have marked the Glamorgan Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/46082/) as closed. At least they waited for the ground to move the closest pub to Bristol City ground, The Wedlocks (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/716/) closed many years ago which I never really understood, although I never had a drink in there so the answer may be quite simple really.

Thanks for that.

It must be quite hard running a bog standard pub near a sports ground, as you probably only get decent trade once every other Saturday, with a gap in the close season. Even so, there seem to be plenty of this type of pub up and down the country.

I think the big reshuffle in London after the Olympics will see a lot of pubs reliant on match day trade close down if their local teams relocate. I can think of 10-15 pubs around Selhurst Park that will really suffer if Palace move to an upgraded Crystal Palace athletics stadium.
