There is a review of The Chevin Innhttp://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/42649/, Guiseley which appears to be out of date, in fact it's downright inaccurate. The pub is described as having burnt down in 2007, with a rating of 2 (how do you give a rating to a burned out shell?). However, I believe this pub is taking bookings for Valentines Day dinners on Saturday 12th February, which is only a few days away (see http://www.gctaverns.co.uk/).

An article in the Wharfedale Observer (http://www.wharfedaleobserver.co.uk/news/1450505.rebuilt_menston_pub_gives_a_taste_of_moder n_yorkshire_life/) describes how new owners rebuilt the pub following the fire that not only destroyed the pub but also took the life of the landlady, Sarah Thrippleton Hall.

It's a shame that the reviewer didn't update the information, but perhaps you could now remove the review if you think this would be appropriate (the pub is not marked as closed, so doesn't need reopening:)). Otherwise I (or you) could add a new comment based on the available facts.

Luton Town have been drawn at Guiseley in the next round of the FA Trophy, so I hope to check this one out on the ground fairly soon and provide a proper review.

Further to the above, I've now discovered we have a duplicate entry for this pub. It appears with the wrong postcode (LS20 9DL) in Guiseley whereas it should be LS29 6BE in the sub-district of Menston (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/57181/). Google maps repeats this error, which the street view at LS20 9DL exposes, as there's nary a pub in sight. Whereas if you check the gctaverns (http://www.gctaverns.co.uk/upcoming_events/view/30) website there's a photo that corresponds with the one submitted by Colin Spiller on 4th February 2008.

So a simpler solution now presents itself: simply delete the duplicate entry, which is the Guiseley one, and keep the genuine article, which is the Menston one. Confused? It's time I went to bed.

By the way, Colin Spiller's second photo appears to be twisted through 90 degrees. Can you correct that please?

Cheers

Hi sheffield hatter,

As suggested we have deleted the duplicate record. Whilst it is possible to fix the picture, the amount of work is significant and as such time consuming - so I will just live with the rotation, sorry about that.

Thanks for sorting all that.
