Does anyone know how to transfer images from the sim card of a Nokia 6136 (I think?) to my PC? The card doesn't just slot in, as a camera memory card does - I wondered whether a lead could be used to link the phone direct to a USB port? (but please don't wrongly think I know what I was talking about there!).

Also, when I was having probs with that phone, a pal gave me one of his old spares - a Nokia 6230 (I think?) - but that says 'phone restricted' & asks for a restriction code. He doesn't know what it is, and 0000 doesn't work. Any ideas how to unlock that phone?

Thanks folks.

I have got a lead to connect my phone (sony ericsson) to the computer USB port .

Unlocking a phone costs around £5 up here , in an independant phone shop

I use a Nokia and I have a lead to connect ot to the USB port. I think they call them "data transfer " leads. A quick search on ebay bought a few up -

That pretty much matches my understanding of it, I would just do a search for Nokia 6136 data cable on ebay as Del has done.

Thanks for the replies. I'll get a data lead in the hope (presumption?) that I'll be able to download phone pictures/numbers (back-up at last!) to the PC, & I'll see the best deals round here for unlocking t'other one in case mine bites the dust. Don't know why the phone should be 'locked' anyway if it hasn't, for instance, been reported nicked.

. Don't know why the phone should be 'locked' anyway if it hasn't, for instance, been reported nicked.

The main purpose is to tie you into the phone network provider, who very likely has subsidised to price of the phone, simply they want their money back one way or another
