Not sure about the name we have for the Chantry Arms on Chesterfield Road in Sheffield. It appears to be named after a chap by the name of Chantry (see http://www.thewookie.co.uk/pubs/woodseats.html) but I think it's always referred to as The Chantry.
Although both the Sheffield Pub Guide (see http://www.sheffieldpub.co.uk/pubs/woodseats/chantrey-arms/) and Royal Mail spell it Chantrey, this is certainly wrong. I've added a photo today which clearly has the pub sign "The Chantry", with no "Arms" on the pub at all. The lettering used in the pub sign, with hints of religious connotations, suggests that they are moving away from celebrating a fairly obscure local sculptor to something with a hint of rather more ancient history about it, although the hanging sign still retains his portrait. This is similar to a pub in Leeds which is correctly referred to as Wren's (as in "the pub which used to be run by Mr Wren") but for many years had a sign saying The Wrens with a picture of the (in)appropriate small birds on it!
