Shenstone Brewery Three Spires in the Trooper Inn. Very tasty. And I got to keep the glass. Bargain!

A very early bid there, did you mean this to be in w/e 28 November?

You are quite right Uncle Conrad. 'Tis me being overly keen. Great beer nonetheless and the engraved glass is now in my cupboard!

I cannot find a website for Shenstone Brewery. I was interested in looking at what other beers they do.

I'm not sure they actually brew. Three Spires used to be brewed at Highgate.

My BOTW this week is Ha'penny London Particular Ruby Ale 5.0%. Saved it to finish the Pig's Ear fest and it was a different flavour and went down very well. I do like ruby ones.

A quiet week for me but a very good pint of Cotswold Spring's Old Ale gets my BOTW and was supped by the fire in The Woodman , Wild Hill.Given the weather ,I have been seeking out more seasonal brews and the Old Ale fitted the bill.

Well its been a close run thing this week.

The always excellent Elland 1872 Porter threw its hat into the ring again and Dark Star Expresso also made a strong bid.

But this weeks BOTW is going to be Butcombe Christmas Steps tried at the Regal Moon Rochdale.

Which incidentally has just been voted the Wetherspoons Cask Ale Pub Of The Year.

It just shows what you can do when you've got good management. Well done Chris & the team.

Being snowed in for much of the week, drinking has been localised which usually means a lack of choice, not helped by the fact that deliveries haven't got through to some pubs. I'll opt for an old fave that I shouldn't really like being on the dark and strong side (6%) but I always enjoy it when it crops up, and it's local - Nelson Brewery's Nelson's Blood

A quiet week, rescued from mediocrity by a few bottles of the exceptional Goose Island IPA. Very hoppy, with a dry finish, 5.9% and highly recommended.

A couple of cracking winter type ales this week with Church End's Pews Porter at 4.5% slipping down a treat. But my BOTW goes to Art Brew's Tempest Stout, again at 4.5% and an extremely drinkable dark ale from this, in my experience, top brewery.

Nothing much at all in the last week except for a few pints of Sharps Doom Bar on Saturday evening so that will have too be my Beer of the week. :(

Not much drunk this week due to work and family commitments (I can recommend Booths own brand Champagne as well as their bottled beer selection though). I've just had a few pints of Old Hooky which is a splendid beer and a couple of Youngs ordinary bitter, Lees Moonraker in bottles however is particularly fine so I'll make that my BOTW, I'll pop over to Manchester and try some on draught sometime over the post xmas week on the strength of the bottles.

Not had a beer all week, not even something bottled. Can't remember when that last happened.
