From Wot's Bruin

Refurbishment

Winner - Sutton Hall (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/3711/), Macclesfield

Highly commended - Trent Navigation (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/31137/), Nottingham

Commended - Castle Bar, Cockermouth and the Dyneley Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/41012/), Pool-in-Wharefdale

Is the Cockermouth pub this one (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/6120/), a reincarnation of the Ship?

Conversion to Pub Use

Winner - Brewery Tap (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/67709/), Chester

Commended - Midnight Bell (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/63526/), Holbeck - not on PuG that I can find. (now linked - thanks to Aleandhearty for local knowledge)

They didn't award for New Build or Best Street Corner Local - he latter surprised me a little, I can think of several I'd put forward but then again I don't know the criteria the judges based their decisions on.

I've not been in any of them - any opinions from those who have?

Commended - Midnight Bell, Holbeck - not on PuG that I can find.

It's listed under the central Leeds pubs Nick. Although it's in the GBG as being in Holbeck, it's pointlessly confusing as it's only five minutes walk from Leeds station. The beer's usually in good nick, staff are friendly but some find it a little sterile. Certainly, when it first opened the interior was virtually all white and felt like a cross between a kitchen showroom and an operating theatre. However, the colour scheme's a lot more forgiving these days. (Still not written my review from a visit a few weeks ago. No change there!)

Know the Brewery Tap in Chester pretty well , i used to deliver there when it was an Italian Resturant , all they have really done to convert it , is just to add a bar , the basic layout and decor is still the same as the resturant , its a cracking pub all the same :D

Highly commended - Trent Navigation (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/31137/), Nottingham

Trent Navigation is effectively brewery tap for relatively new Magpie Brewery.
Unfortunately off our route for the Friday of last month's Nottingham visit, and a home fans only place on match day made it not worth trying on the Saturday. Next time...

The Brewery Tap is very well done & the beer is excellent.

It's also very close to The Bear & Billet another of our favourite haunts in Chester.

It makes for a very short 2 pub 12 handpump crawl.

Agree about Brewery Tap. First class for beers from Spitting Feathers and guests. Always head there when in Chester.

Been to Midnight Bell once, and agree is is a very sterile looking place, or was when we went which must be a couple of years ago now.
