A flying start for me as I'm currently staying in Worcester, on my own, for a few days. What's a man to do on an evening? :) Enjoyed the TSA 'Double Espresso' and Adnams 'Ghost Ship' in The Postal Order (JDW), but was blown away by Hobson's Mild in The Plough. Wonderful stuff.

It was The Plough itself that blew me away. We loved the place. One of the very few 10's I've awarded. :notworthy:

I suspect it will become base camp whilst I'm here! Just checked when my review was on the dark side and unbelievably my last visit was two years ago.

Mini fest on in the 7 Stars Bristol but the landlord didn't send around a list in time so his loss. Beers of North and Mid Wales. The Purple Moose Glaslyn Ale is excellent. That well brewed, tasty type of beer that you don't want to stop drinking............:D

Greenmill - Little Jack
Crouch Vale - Apollo
Outstanding - Blond
Cambrinus - Endurance IPA

The Hoppers no 12 is favorite so far

It's looking like Adnams Old Ale this week (available in a few Geronimo Inns outlets in London as well some of the tied houses).

St Austell Coxswains Special 4.0% & Young's Ram Rod 5.0% were my two favourite Beers of a good week. So as Beer of the week I will go for the Young's Ram Rod 5.0%

Only one non-descript pint for me this week, summat at Streatham spoons that I cannot recall, although £1.25 with voucher was great price.

So I'll have to go for my bottled Brakspear Triple, at £1.33 another decent price from Asda for 500ml of 7.2% beer.

Dark Star Green Hop IPA - 6.5% of proper American style hoppy goodness! Got a 4 pint container from my local beer shop (to make up for Cask selling out of the stuff in double-quick time before I could get to it).

An afternoon spent checking some pubs* for possible inclusion in the 2012 GBG today but not many outstanding beers. The Ilkley Mary Jane at a whopping 3.5% was extremely nice and very drinkable so that'll be the one.

*a tough job but.....well you know the rest:D.

With the boat at it's winter mooring and undergoing minor repairs to get through the Boat Safety Certificate and to prepare for next years voyage of discovery,my pub outings have been severely curtailed :( but I did manage a trip to Our Mutual Friend in Stevenage which included a very well kept Slater's Original ;happy to nominate it as my BOTW.

Little to choose from this week but a very drinkable pint or two of Purity's Mad Goose at 4.2% sampled in The Coaching Inn at Great Brington is a worthy BOTW for me.

The 'Spoons No 50 - Caledonian Edinburgh Strong Ale - would have got the nod this week but found myself in the wonderful Bull at Horton Kirby yesterday lunchtime and had another superb debut beer from a brand new local brewery - Kent Brewery, Pale

I've had quite a heavy week this week with a lot of decent beer supped but not one that wins by a mile.

Winner by a short head is Bays Devon Dumpling tried in Moyles Bar in Hebden Bridge.

The Green Dragon in Croydon have gone head to head with Wetherspoons by holding their own beer festival over the same period.

I had much more luck in the Green Dragon than I did in the 'Spoons this week, with Westerham General Wolfe Maple Ale and Gadd's No. 5 standing out of the crowd. But BOTW goes to Salopian Darwin's Origin. I don't see Salopian beers around here very often, but this one has certainly marked them out as one to keep an eye out for in the future.

After Monday night's session in Worcester, only had one more pint all week. Therefore, an easy win for the sublime Hobson's Mild.

Most of the beers were in Dublin where O'Hara.s Stout stood out, but before we went the one that we marked for BOTW was Art Brew Dark Brut, although we too enjoyed East Coast Hoppers 12. Hmmmm. Make BOTW the Art Brew.

Not a fabulous beer-week by any means, but it was nice to sample one from the Weltons Brewery again and I had my first pint of Young’s Winter Warmer for some time. It was 16 pints over a 3-day period for HTM69.

San Miguel x 4
Harvey’s Sussex Best x 6
Weltons Horsham Old x 1
Young’s Winter Warmer x 1
St Austell’s Tribute x 4

BOTW: Young's Winter Warmer
