During the rejig we did earlier in the year to allow the sub-district concept we changed the system to remove the Isle of Man as a county of England. This means that it was no longer obviously visible on the site. We were planning to reinstate it when we allow other countries pubs to be added to the site.

That said it is still available if you click on the island from the Dumfries and Galloway map (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/counties/dumfries-galloway/) (a little Easter egg whilst we were playing with the maps). It is also visible from the search and we are not stopping pubs from being added there.

Anyway the conclusion of this post is that despite all the hurdles in his way Wynne Route (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/userinfo.php?name=First+King) has been having a storming effort to improve the quality of our Isle of Man listings (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/counties/isle-of-man/).

It is good stuff, leading to me having a crash course in Isle of Man geography (courtesy of Wikipedia ;) ) as I seem to be creating a new 'town' with every new pub that has been submitted!

Conrad is having to put up with me tutting every few minutes though because Google Maps doesn't understand Isle of Man addresses properly. In one case Google decided that I didn't really mean IM1 in the postcode, converted it to IG1 and dumped me in the middle of Ilford.

Its been a few years since i visited, used to have a few friends out there.

Please remember, they are not part of England, they have their own government and their money isnt legal tender over here - hence it gets shoved in choccy machines! Isn't Okells an IOM brewery?

Isn't Okells an IOM brewery?

Well I don't know for sure, but I have been busily referring to this rather impressive guide (http://www.manxcat.org.uk/) and I'd say about 90% of the pub there sell Okells beers from what I've seen.
