Is it me or is there no BOTW thread for the week just gone??

For what it's worth, by BOTW is Dark Star APA, which just gets my vote ahead of the ever reliable Brew Dog Trashy Blonde.

Requires me to remember to start and stick the thread, oooooooops.

The things I will do to avoid work

My beer of the week has got to be Brewdog "PUNK" followed by Thornbridge "JAIPUR" be very careful how much you drink if alternating the two on the same day!!!

I was searching all over the place for last weeks thread. Thought I was going mad.

Anyway, not a great selection this week. Most of my local pubs hadn't had a very good turnover so iit was largely the same beers as last week. I could have gone with the Westerham Grasshopper again but I refuse to have repeat BofW's. I had a couple of decent bottles at home including a Badger Dandelion which was interesting to say the least. In a deviation from normal drinking habits I have opted for a few ciders this week with Westons cider with Raspberry being the pick, not too sickly and not too strong either. I think overall I will go for the Exmoor Gold at the Metropolitan Bar in Baker Street prior to the England match on Wednesday. I needed a good drink before heading off to watch that crock of overpaid divas!

Found myself back at Croydon's George on friday after a meeting re Sage line50 course (which I can't afford), and have to go for Thornbridge Jaipur IPA.
As usual these days they had a decent selection which included Hophead from the excellent Brewster's Brewery, but that was fighting a losing battle in the aftermath of Jaipur (great value at £1.40 with a voucher!).

After a couple of lean weeks I'm a bit spoiled for choice this week after a splendid time crawling round Leeds - only one poor pint the rest excellent. The top three were Mallinsons Paddock Reflection (No 5 in a series of ?) Riverhead Deer Hill Porter and the winner by a short head Wylam Angel

Started sensibley on Thornbridge Hopton then Saltaire Amarillo Gold before moving on to a few pints of Salamander Showdown(5.3%) which would have been BOTW but one of the other beers ran out and was replaced by Thornbridge Jaipur , very dangerous , beer that strong should`nt be that easy to drink
BOTW Thornbridge Jaipur

Just got back from our summer break in Cornwall. Had a much better time on the beer front down there this year, compared to last. Loved St Austell's 'Proper Job', but thought their 'Black Prince' was even better. A fabulous mild. My BOTW: St Austell 'Black Prince'.

Not the Spingo Special then! ;)

:D Drove through Helston a couple of times, but just couldn't muster quite enough enthusiasm to give The Blue Anchor a second chance. Maybe next year!

I wasn't planning on going to the pub last week, and didn't, but things were redeemed by the firkins of Harveys Sussex Best Bitter at our neghbour's wedding breakfast. So both by default and through quality, my Beer of the Week is...Harvey's Sussex Best bitter.

Lots of mentions for the Jaipur IPA this week and I had a couple myself. It was a toss up between that and the Morrissey Fox Aussie IPA….until Sunday.

Walked into an occasional pub for me as they have a good reputation for ales and saw a line of six pumps, only beer I knew was Landlord. Plumped for the Polar Star from somewhere then spotted what looked like a 7% beer hiding at the end called Summer something. It was indeed 7% the landlord told me proudly and very popular, a couple of pints later I could see why. It’s a light coloured beer with a strong taste but very drinkable. It took me a while to work out the word play in the name but my BoTW is Church End Summer-terother.

I think you are in more danger of being too early this week. Certainly no worries about being late, it is fun to have the records to refer to.
