I still listen to it a few times a year, and often repeat the closer "Sea Within A Sea" several times. Pretty sure the album got a nod for the Mercury Prize that year without checking. Also good to see another nod for MBV's Loveless.

This very nearly made the final cut for my list - it's a terrific album and I was fortunate enough to see them perform it in full at the Royal Albert Hall last year. It was also my 'lucky' album during AFC Bournemouth's League 1 and 2 promotion seasons - I'm not particularly superstitious but we always seemed to get a result whenever I listened to the album on the walk from the station to Dean Court, so it became a bit of a ritual for a few years!

I didn't know they played it all at the RAH - gutted, I would have gone!!!

It's a great album, mixes up a soup of Loveless, Joy Division, Slowdive and some early Simple Minds, a pretty heady concotion.
