As we've had a few music related lists the next logical step is probably favourite albums. So here's a top 10 of mine (subject to change):

Never Mind The Bollocks - Sex Pistols
Daydream Nation - Sonic Youth
Any Half Man Half Biscuit album
Stone Roses - Stone Roses
Psychocandy - Jesus And Mary Chain
If I Should Fall From Grace With God - The Pogues
George Best - Wedding Present
Heaven Up Here - Echo And The Bunnymen
Madonna - And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
Dirty - Sonic Youth.

Some will probably change over the next few weeks.

As we've had a few music related lists the next logical step is probably favourite albums.

I'll have a go at this, but I'm also going to start a new thread for your Top 10 Favourite Albums by Artists that are not in your lists of favourite Bands or Solo Artists.

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere - Neil Young
Beggars Banquet - Rolling Stones
Tommy - The Who
Rhinos, Winos and Lunatics - Man
If4 - If
Pendulum - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Abbey Road - The Beatles
Village Green Preservation Society - Kinks
Max - The Rumour
Ring of Hands - Argent
Thank Christ for the Bomb - Groundhogs
River - Terry Reid

Yes, I know that's 12 rather than 10, but I'm taking back control and using imperial units. :p

...and if I borrow English Settlement - XTC from Pubsignman, that'll make a nice round Baker's Dozen!

Rattus Norvegicus - The Stranglers

Shit. Just read on the Beeb that Dave Greenfield (keyboardist) has died of coronavirus. I still have RN on vinyl, will have to crank up the volume, a bit later. Grip here I come.

Sad news indeed. Saw them in June 1977 at the Electric Circus when I was a (part time) punk.

Most albums never really stayed with me out of a few plays as I'm a fussy bastard and just want to hear the tracks I like.

Those studio albums I can usually listen to without the itch of wanting to skip;

Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd (though Money always jars a bit)
Trailer Park - Beth Orton
BRMC - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Hats - Blue Nile
Parklife - Blur
The biggest winners are the Cocteau Twins - I can listen to pretty much any album of theirs in its entireity.
Similar for the Cure between Seventeen Seconds and Wish.
Albumen - The Egg
Skying/Primary Colours - The Horrors
The Big Roar - Joy Formidable
Computer World - Kraftwerk
Split - Lush
Holy Bible - Manic Street Preachers
Attack of the Grey Lantern/Six - Mansun
Loveless - My Bloody Valentine
The Comforts of Madness/In Ribbons - Pale Saints
The Italian Flag - Prolapse
Foxbase Alpha - St Etienne
Takk - Sigur Ros
New Gold Dream/Sons & Sisters - Simple Minds
Just for a Day - Slowdive
Reading, Writing & Arithmatic - The Sundays

You're the only other person I know that has ever mentioned The Horrors and their Primary Colours album. I still listen to it a few times a year, and often repeat the closer "Sea Within A Sea" several times. Pretty sure the album got a nod for the Mercury Prize that year without checking. Also good to see another nod for MBV's Loveless.

This very nearly made the final cut for my list - it's a terrific album and I was fortunate enough to see them perform it in full at the Royal Albert Hall last year. It was also my 'lucky' album during AFC Bournemouth's League 1 and 2 promotion seasons - I'm not particularly superstitious but we always seemed to get a result whenever I listened to the album on the walk from the station to Dean Court, so it became a bit of a ritual for a few years!

Mirror's Image for me. Maybe it's the Back in Black style electronic bongs at the beginning... :D

I didn't know they played it all at the RAH - gutted, I would have gone!!!

It's a great album, mixes up a soup of Loveless, Joy Division, Slowdive and some early Simple Minds, a pretty heady concotion.

Hazel O'Connor - Breaking Glass

King Kurt - Ooh Wallah Wallah

Scenes from Breaking Glass were filmed outside Tapping the Admiral (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/72375/) -
Captures 17 and 24. (https://www.reelstreets.com/films/breaking-glass/)

King Kurt's not a name I've heard in 35 years...

Breaking Glass was a good film and a great album. Haven't seen the film for years.

I used to knock around with a few Psychobilly's back in the day. King Kurt, Meteors, Guana Batz, Cramps, Stingrays...

Guana Batz - likewise not heard of for 35-odd years. Topical too, given that the plague probably came from bat guano.
