In a town with some interesting pubs, this is one I return to:https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/11105/.On our latest visit,in the dull, dark noman's land between Christmas and New Year, the pub was pleasantly busy with drinkers and lunchers.Cask beers seem to be locally produced;those I tried all came from the hinterland of Hastings.I was hoping for a nice dark'un, but heigh ho. Craft beer and fancy imported lager beers are available, and some odd looking bottles were in the fridge. Nightingale's cider was on handpump.
The famous guv'nor was not on parade:dogs are welcome, and the grub was not overpriced, given the locale.

Its on my hit list this coming year, but then again it was this passing year. Onwards and upwards .

I'm going foe something different.. It's a conversion of a semi-detached house and has a modern interior. It's set in suburbia with very few pubs around let alone any worth going to. It's not even GBG listed, although I think it should be. The attraction is that it's a Batham's pub the King Arthur (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/85733/) in Hagley. On my visit last month all three Batham's beers were on and in first class condition.

The Hornet Alehouse (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/86369/), a lively micropub with very good beer.
