We don't often find ourselves in a pub on Friday evenings, alas,so it's a bonus when we do.Our visit to The Wheel Inn (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/21321/) was unplanned, and all the better for it. A cracking little pub with friendly staff and locals.

Worth seeking out if you are ever in Hinckley, modern yet friendly and with good drinking options it's certainly different.

Still have a soft spot for Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/56162/) and it was fun watching the bar staff trying to enforce the no modern tech rule. I was in 4 sam smiths pubs and this was the only one actively enforcing the rule although they will let people pay using a phone.

The Lord Stanley (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/22813/)

A return visit after nearly six-and-a-half years and this is a very nice pub, with only two recorded visits. A good pubby feel, mixed crowd and for an apparent gastro-pub, no-one eating at 9.30 on a Saturday night.
Bath Gem on good form at £4.20, thereafter Skinner's Betty Stoggs and Tring's Side Pocket for a Toad.

I'm going for a micropub the Bay Hop (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/84492/) in Colwyn Bay. It's the 2019 CAMRA POTY for North Wales, allegedly aided by some tactical voting by the local branch. If you don't take to any of the five rotating ales there are ciders and a good range of bottles and cans.

There was a distinct lack of new pub visits in October for me but The Bricklayers Arms (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/39720/) was half decent, despite being a GK joint.

Quite a good month, but The Pheasant (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/32738/) in Wellington stands out.

Couldn't decide between these two, both equally as good.
