The Pretty Bricks (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/38903/)

The highlight of a decent crawl around Walsall,a town with many fine boozers with prices to please the wallet.

I've still got trouble with my knees so have been limited to old haunts that are easy to get to. I'm going for one in North Wales the Australia (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/62124/) in Porthmadog. I made two visits here in early April which were both enjoyable. It has been a right dive in the past and then became an Italian restaurant. It's now run efficiently by the nearby Purple Moose brewery with five of their cask beers and three keg. For me it's the best bet in Porthmadog which is probably the best place for a drink on the coast North of the Dyfi Estuary. It's probably worth avoiding at peak times but I got a table on both visits.

Managed a few more newbies in April thanks to some business travelling, although nothing to set the world alight. The default choice for POTM is The Chequers (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/2380/) in Fenny Stratford, near MK. I didn't add a review as BF had done such a good job just a month before me.

Steam Town Brew Co (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/86173/), Breath of fresh air in a town of otherwise poor pubs.

That's interesting, are their beers good and reasonably priced? If they are then I'd be prepared to go there if I can get an advance ticket especially as there is the JDW opposite the station as a back stop. I'd be tempted to go there on a Tuesday as there is a 50p CAMRA discount.

A draw last month, at different ends of Great Britain: The Beer Seller (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/87289/) in Tonbridge and The Marine Hotel (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/50412/) in Stonehaven (although I did also manage to fit in another visit to one of my all-time favourite - but sadly cask-less - pubs, the Clep Bar (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/48573/) in Dundee, and the landlord of the Bake & Alehouse (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/77916/) in Westgate also deserves a special mention).

Haven't got around to reviewing it yet but did this (https://thepubexplorer.wordpress.com/2019/04/01/beauty-and-the-beastly-in-eastleigh/) at the time, six of their own beers on, on cask covering the styles, plus two Ciders, only had one, ok but not mind blowing, before moving on to keg. Annoyingly didn't note the prices but
but pretty sure it was sub £4.00.

Another fantastic little micro gets my POTM. The friendly welcome and great beer, plus some excellent pork pies made this a winner
