I managed a few "new to me" beers last week:

Pioneer - Prospect
Fireside Bitter - Black Country Ales
Ginger Joe - Ridgeside
Soma - Pentrich
Saddle Black - Purity
Killer Stout - Beowulf
New Ground - Saltaire
Stout Porter - Portland Craft Beer Co
Hair In The Mailbox - Mikkeller
Delirium Red - Huyghe
Jack of Clubs - Wild Card
King of Hearts - Wild Card

My Beer of the Week would be the Killer Stout by Beowulf that I had in The Wellington (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/37946/) - a 7.3% stout so one to sip but it was really enjoyable. A close second place I feel is warranted for Ginger Joe by Ridgeside, at The Head of Steam (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/85963/) - a 5.6% ginger stout with just enough ginger kick without being overpowering.

Good week for me, picking up two new pubs and three new breweries in the process.

Red Willow - Headless.*
Magpie - One for Sorrow.
Pictish - Brewers Gold.
Red Willow - Faithless.
Wilde Child - Sgt. Hugo Stiglitz.
Nomadic - Hoarder.*
York - Otherside IPA.
Good Chemistry - Shadow Future.
Jolly Sailor - Milk Stout.*
Acorn - Kolibri IPA.
Geeves - Fully Laden.
Mill Valley - Fudge.
Roosters - International Orange.
Blue Bee - Born in the USA.*
North Riding - Citra.*
Swannay - Dark Munro.
Helmsley - Howardian Gold.
Great Newsome - Holderness Dark.
Yorkshire Heart - Lightheart.
Mallinsons - Tropical Blonde.

A close call this week, but the Blue Bee, a 6% IPA featuring Mosaic, Citra and Equinox hops gets the nod. Sampled in The Hop (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/66330/), Wakefield.

Steady but sure

Rat White Rat
Castle Rock Harvest Pale
Otter Springfest
Otter Amber
Little London Hoppy Hilda
West Berks Maggs Magnificent Mild
Loose Cannon Some Like It Hop
Muirhouse Hop Garden
Ascot Dark Horse

The White Rat was decent but BOTW is going to Ascot Dark Horse, not a brewery I am to keen on though being a fairly local one, the beer is a very pleasant Porter at a reasonably sessionable 4.5%
Another fine beer taken in The Alfred (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/35750/) on the way home after a Sunday of work.

Did a pub crawl with my daughter and son in law from Waterloo to the Borough .and drank some nice but expensive craft beers without getting anything better than this one.
Although it would have been difficult to beat on any day.

All beers tried this week were in South Wales :-

Brecon Six Beacons 4.1%
Tiny Rebel Dutty 4.2%
Tiny Rebel Citra Milkshake 4.2%
Tiny Rebel Cwtch 4.5%
Harbwr Tenby Caldey Lollipop 4.5%
Harbwr Tenby RFA Sir Galahad 4.6%
Gadds' She Sells Sea Shells 4.7%
Harbwr Tenby Red Berry Bay 4.7%
Rhymney Export 5.0%
Woodforde Admiral's Reserve 5.0%
Salopian Panacea 5.0%
Tiny Rebel Club Tropicana (keg) 5.5%
Gloucester Imperial Stout 9.0%

The winner is the Salopian Panacea as tried in the Haverfordwest JDW for £1.99. It was run close by the Gloucester Imperial Stout at £5.60 a pint (2 halves) in Newport's Tiny Rebel bar. Tiny Rebel can be a great brewery when they get it right but the Club Tropicana was more like a cocktail than a beer.

Interesting week:

Abbeydale Demon Drink*
Chiltern Beechwood Malty Best Bitter*
Loddon 6 Pack
Gypsy Hill Forester APA
Slaters Neon Kiss*
Leighton Buzzard Restoration Ale
Slaters One Hop (the beer formerly know as Top Totty)*
Magic Rock Ringmaster*
Moor Beer Raw*
Northern Monk New World IPA*
Oakham Bishops Farewell*

All starred would have been worthy winners in many other weeks but none could match BOTW Northern Monk New World IPA as tried on cask at the Bald Buzzard's (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/83084/) rare beer festival. It's good in tins, it's great on keg and it's knockout on cask. 6.2%, marmalade, TT Landlord on acid and I'm yet to recover.

Next week quiet until the footie.

That was the first pub where I tried the new Ind Coope Burton Ale. I remember the landlord describing it as "liquid gold". What he should have said is "I'm ripping you all off".
