We have just released a new version of the search, we now show filters for county and town. So search for your pub and then select the county or town you intended.

Also when looking at pub listings in towns, the closed pubs will now be hidden, if you want to see them click on the show closed pubs link.

We dont have many computers to test on down here, so if you are having problems with this as it involves a bit of code that is new on me do let us know and we will see if we can make it work for you.

Thanks

Conrad

Take Leeds for example. Lots of pubs, many without pictures. I'm going to Leeds tomorrow - which ones will I be near? Not an easy question to answer.

A sort by postcode would put them into some sort of order, so I can work out if any are on my route

A sort by district would be nice, but I'm not sure whether there's enough information available to make it practical

Thanks, Colin

Hi Colin,

Thanks for the positive feedback, as you correctly point out the district is difficult as there is no real information there for districts. A postcode sort should be manageable, also we have had a request for a postcode search, so maybe I will tie the two together.

Just to warn you, I am currently not in a position to develop the site so it will be a couple of months before we can make these changes, but I will keep you updated.

Thanks again, and let us know of anymore ideas, we are keen to improve the site.

Hi Colin,

I have just released a local area map feature on the site. Is that good enough for what you described (sorry I know it was a long time ago).

Thanks

Hi Ian,

Thanks for the compliment, the maps are great fun, and I am hoping we can begin showing them off a lot more. But the most important thing is that people enjoy the site and can use it and I think we are getting there. We really value the feedback we get as it lets us see what people want from the site.

So keep on contributing and we will keep on trying to make the site better,

Conrad
