Whilst in the Black Dog Alehouse in Brentford on Saturday night I was refused a pint of the incredible strong Siren -broken dream stout 6.5.Anything over 6.0 can only be bought in 2/3 measures as we drinkers cant handle strong beer.Tossers.Didn't buy it .

I agree totally. It's gone on my AVOID list. Please don't tell me the 2/3 glasses are jugs.

I got the same telling-off in the Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton. We just bought two halves each and asked for an empty pint glass.

Well, I got a pint for just £1.00 at the Three Greyhounds (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/22386/) the other day with an e-voucher on the Nicholson's app - bargain!

A pint of 6.5% beer is 0.567x6.5= 3.68 units.

Yet I don't doubt they'll sell you a 250ml glass of 15% wine, 3.75 units.

They're just being precious, go somewhere else inhabited by normal people.

I didn't argue much about it with the obnoxious barman as the previous week I had asked him the reasoning behind the Arbor beer 4.2 at £4.60 a pint and the previous beer I had drank at 5.5 costing £4.20.He said you are obviously not happy with the prices so I will get the manager to explain and he stormed off upstairs to get him.Naturally I was not happy paying £4.60 for the Arbor but just politely asked the reason not demanded a stewards inquiry. His attitude will not stop me using the pub as great beer and good choice.

The Lamb & Trotter (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/86975/) in EC1 happily serving Broken Dream in pints, albeit in keg version and at £6 a pint...

Given that a pint of low abv dross can be a fiver plus in Central London that sounds good value, at least it's a decent beer.
