Ha! If I had any pub within 20mins walk...
I've only been to Surrey Oaks (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/35618/) since reviewing on this or ANOther site, however I visited The George & Dragon (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/70761/) before it became community owned.

Nags Head, Wonston Arms and Surrey Oaks for me, all very worthy.

Two, and that doesn't include the Yorkshire one :o

Might be going to Stockton next month and I might persuade Mrs OB to drive me to Hudswell 'cos it's a pain to get to otherwise.

I've done four: the Nags Head, obviously, plus the George & Dragon (can't believe OB still hasn't visited (http://forums.pubsgalore.co.uk/showthread.php?26404-Camra-Best-Pubs&highlight=hudswell)), Chequers (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/61718/) and Golden Smog (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/82708/).

Four for me, two of which are micropubs. They are the Bridge End Ruabon, Lanes Dover (which I recall divided opinions a bit on here), Little Green Dragon N21 and the Nags Head Reading and unusually all in recent years so reviewed.
I'm rather annoyed over this as it says the GBG was published yesterday but I still don't have my subscription copy.

I live a few miles from the Cricketers Arms. Probably due a re-visit given how many awards it's winning lately.

Me neither, though I remember getting an email a few weeks back citing production difficulties. I really only rejoined so I could get a cheaper copy without having to buy through Amazon.

Only one for me. Bridge End, Ruabon.

Well it is only 3 minutes walk away!

I think I have been in the George at Hudswell too. But it will be about 40 years ago.

Trouble at printers apparently, no word yet on delivery dates and St Albans has server problems too

Amazon still has a date of 13th September so if it actully was released yesterday that is really annoying as the subscriptions are supposed to be sent out prior to publication. I got that email as well but assumed I would have got the book by now.

My GBG App was updated to 2019 yesterday so 13th September sounds like it was the release day.

Four for me. Leek, Rochdale, Ruabon and St Helens with the Bridge End, Ruabon, being my favourite.

Yep, it's a pain to get to unless you like walking or long bus journeys with limited time in the pub.

Thanks for the offer, we (Camra branch) only have a short time and it looks like The Golden Smog and The Wasp's Nest will be the only ones we can fit it.

Two for me - Cricketers (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/27148/) in St Helens and Nag's Head (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/1691/), Reading, although I'll try and squeeze The Little Green Dragon (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/85699/), N21 into this year's visits. Interesting that The Fountain (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/34376/), Leek made the cut when the same town's Earl Grey Inn (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/34374/) was recently one of the 16 Camra 2016 POTY finalists.

Perhaps my local will finally win.

Or maybe not! The judges at national level always seem to take against it...

Agree with the Golden Smog. The other I'm still unsure about but if you do go, I hope you like the Beatles...

As I've said before, you really don't want to win it, unless you don't want to be able to visit your local for 18 months.

A possible 4, Surrey Oaks, Staggs (an excellent joker a bus ride from Edinburgh), Nags and, possibly, Rochdale's Flying Horse - ROB may remember better than me whether this was ticked on a(nother) blurry night...

here's the links for those wondering

Cricketers Arms (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/27148/)
Staggs Bar (The Volunteer Arms) (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/64738/)
Wonston Arms (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/14200/)
The Chequers (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/61718/)

I've been in the Cricketers and didn't think it was that great but I can see how it would tick Camra boxes; I know of Staggs as its use of "return trays" (auto-vacs) brasses off a few English ex-pats in the Edinburgh Camra branch no end. I used to drive past the Wonston Arms occasionally when I worked in Basingstoke but never been in; Chequers Little Gransden? never heard of it not even when I lived in Hertfordshire (it's in Cambridgeshire apparently).

Well, you'd struggle to hear from it in Herts, being as it is on the borders of Beds, Hunts and Cambs! Excellent little pub, with some very good beers.

The Wonston is now a wonderful pub, saved from closure by the community some three or four years ago, It was apparently a different beast in your Basingstoke days OB.

Been in The Fleece Inn (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/12897/) It's not worthy IMO of the accolade. It's a village pub which I felt was awkward on my visit 23/06/2016 and 30/12/2012.

Same story with the Cricketers which was a boarded up keg boozer in a run down area five years ago. No pub is a lost cause!
