Undoubtedly The Camel (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/24941/) Visited now a few times over the years, a proper pub with nice beer, a visit yesterday was excellent and the Pie, mash and mushy peas added a whole new dimension.

Southampton Arms (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/23788/)

The annual pilgrimage found the pub at the top of it's game which proved the perfect spot for a very long session. It was less hectic on a Friday evening than I've seen it for a while, which enhanced the visit. The meat snacks complemented outstanding ale ,which a decent sized crew sampled across the full range on offer.Vinyl LP's resulted in good music. There was a lot of weaving on the way home .:nishelypished:

I was convinced earlier on in August that the Angels Nicropub (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/84285/) in Belper was going to be the August POTM but I had forgotten about the Cumberland Arms (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/36426/) in Tyneside (it's Byker in my book!). This splendidly isolated pub has been in most GBGs since the first one in 1974 when it was noted for selling Bass Worthington by gravity. Today it sells beers from local microbreweries and more unusual concoctions from further afield.

The Burnt Pig (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/83040/) A revisit to this excellent micro, and it's still as good if not better, than ever. Superb place, it's got it all, one of the best in my opionion

The Albatross (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/78171/) for it's location, views and quirkiness and, despite limited choice, I've always found a decent pint here.

The Earl Grey Inn (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/34374/) in Leek, Staffs.

Pendleton's The Swan With Two Necks (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/59260/) ran it a close second.
