This was a Sam Smith's outlet so along with the closure of https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/22070/, I wonder if this is the beginning of end for The Sage of Tadcaster?

Doubtful, the word on the mean streets of Taddy is that Mr Humphrey's business methods have become notorious and he can't find anyone to run his pubs these days. A number of local pubs have the same A4 printed sign in the window looking for a couple to run the pub. Quite a few SS pubs round Yorkshire have been shut for months on end now although the Tankard in Rufforth, Rose & Crown at Askham Richard (both near Tadcaster) and the Gardeners in Harrogate reopened fairly quickly. I believe the pubs side of things is subsidised by the property portfolio, it needs to be given the costs of his renovations. He is even older than me, at least 70, so he can't last for ever.......or can he?

This makes Tim Martin's efforts to shoot himself in the foot with his political rants and stupid bar policies look quite amateurish.
