The first paragraph stopped me dead: "The day-trippers slowly advancing upon the marina knew what they had come for. The sand, the sea...". Anyone going to Brighton for the sand is going to be mighty disappointed. The beach at Brighton is made of pebbles.

Day-trippers to Brighton heading for the marina? Anybody heading there is going to be in for an even bigger disappointment!
