Enjoyed while watching the victory against Sweden, the long walk from the River Nene was well worth it.

Hogs Head Brew House (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/83750/)

Always love a place that brews its own beers, and could have stayed here much longer. Definitely one for me to return to and spend a bit more time in.

I'm going to go with Ye Olde Mitre (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/23381/), a good visit to a pub that hasn't always been a favourite.

I;m going for Calan's (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/82912/) the best of the HB micropubs. I was there on the Saturday that England went out of the World Cup so it was almost empty. It's only a small place so this is the first time I've got to sit inside. Excellent!

POTM Calan's (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/82912/)

Had to pop in Calan's for a beer on Thursday having walked down the canal from Todmorden.

Alan has now sold it, but only to a couple who served in the bar anyway.

This is on my list to try next time I am in Hebden Bridge.

I'll second that.

I had to pop in on Wednesday, but as that was August it isn't my POTM

This is on my list to try next time I am in Hebden Bridge.

It was on mine for a while too, you won't be disappointed.

The Swan With Two Necks (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/59260/) This one ticked all the boxes, a worthy former winner of Pub of the Year

Looks like my idea of a perfect pub. If only it was in walking distance...:(

Meant to give an honourable mention to this one too, another excellent place - you could spend hours in here Bowland Brewery Beer Hall (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/84288/)

Charters in Peterborough (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/54679/).

Any boozer which you can moor up to has to have the vote especially as it serves well kept Oakham beer.

Rather late, and if it were situated anywhere else it might just scrape a '6', but I thought this place (in its setting) was just fantastic: The Grotto (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/74327/).

My granny had her wedding reception there in 1932.

Blimey - it must have taken a couple of hours to get the guests down and back up in the old lift!

There's staircase as well IIRC.
