The new football season is almost upon us and I am planning away trips.

As we have another season in the championship there is only 1 ground I haven't done so I will be seeing the delights of Millwall!

The 3 promoted teams offered nothing new, same with the 3 relegated teams so it looks like I will do a couple of revisits this season - unless the cups throw anything interesting my way.

Anybody else got any trips planned yet?

Err yes, avoiding match days!!
Now that Wolves are in Division One it means there are less games on a Saturday at 15:00 which is a real boon for me.
I hope none of the Millwall supporters are as stupid as David Cameron and think you're West Ham supporters!

Hi Del,

I did, but current job's future looks bleak so I will have to see. I am a Villa season ticket holder, so it is their games that interest me the most (and I will aim for the grounds that I have never been to - like you, Millwall is the only one - or seen Villa at first). Hope to be at Hull and Yeovil (been to but not to see Villa). I also keep an eye out for Walsall games and the NPL teams locally: Hednesford, Rushall etc.

Only one new ground for me this season as well - the new Spurs stadium - and I'm unlikely to get to it as we play them on Boxing Day, when I'll almost certainly be in Holland. I did manage to tick off a new ground on Friday thanks to a dismal friendly against Bristol City - squeezed in a very good 18 pub crawl as well, obviously!

Last season, I only managed to get to one match outside of London (Southampton), so the aim to to try and make a few longer trips, with Wolves, Cardiff, Liverpool and Brighton top of the wish list.

Brighton's park and ride is hell - get there early! Wolvo gets busy on match days - I am sure i have seen Aqualung in the Great Western on a match day chuntering about the devil's sport as service slows to accommodate the influx of mini-Beelzebubs that beat him to the bar:):):D

You could always do the Bermondsey Beer Mile if going to the New Den....or instead of.;)
