Any ideas on this one?
Any ideas on this one?
This is tough - the only trace of Tower Brand Beer I can find is a few mentions in the Daily Gleaner newspaper of Kingston, Jamaica in the 1930s where its not clear whether it was imported or brewed locally.

Not really, found it here (https://picclick.de/Alter-Bierdeckel-Tower-Brand-Beer-132625810203.html) but not much help.

Could it be from the Danish Faxe Brewery perhaps?

That was also the only image on the whole internet that I could find.

I wondered that, but the towers are so different and I couldn't find any other connection with Faxe.

We can rule out the Tower Brewery in Tadcaster but, the second picture of the beer mat has "Great Grimsby" in faint pencil. There was a brewery in Grimsby called Hewitt Brothers Ltd and the address given is Tower Brewery, Pasture St, Grimsby. Unfortunately I can't find a confirming logo, just a big H on the sign brackets, or text on leaded windows etc.
This one is closer but no cigar...

The brewery and its 320 tied houses was taken over by United Breweries in 1961, which became part of Bass Charrington and the brewery was shut in 1968.

This has got some of you thinking … thanks for the efforts.
I am not sure at all but I can see what OB means with the Grimbsy connection.
How about this (again 1930s, but Singapore rather than Jamaica)?

That would be this: bingo! Unless there was some trademark copy catting going on.

I'm still not convinced. It's not the same twin tower design as the beer mat and a different brand name.

Going back to the Kingston Gleaner in Jamaica for a minute, it was being advertised as Tower Brand Lager Beer in 1929/30 (as per the Singapore advert) but just Tower Brand Beer (as per the beermat) by 1936.

Perhaps the product was tweaked to suit different markets?
