For those not on the mailing list, there are several items of good / very good news here:

Yorkshire, East, WHITE HART, Hull. After five whole years of closure, an operator has finally been found – Crafty Little Brewery of Brough. Dave Gamston reports that they are targeting an Easter re-opening and will, according to their director Dave Snaith, be operating as a completely free-of-tie showcase for local breweries, not just as their own brewery tap. The exterior has been spruced up (with the help of local heritage grant) and Mr Snaith’s evident appreciation of the pub’s outstanding historic qualities, especially the wonderful front lounge with its ceramic bar counter, should mean that the internal refurbishment is being respectfully handled too. We eagerly await seeing the results.See the entry on the Heritage Pubs web site.

Yorkshire, North, ZETLAND, Middlesbrough. More good news from Yorkshire -after three years of closure, the Zetland, right opposite the town’s railway station, is set to reopen. Its claim to fame on the National Inventory is the spectacular rear lounge with its mirrors and other decoration dating back to 1893. For more see Gazette Live . Thanks to Tom Chapman and Brendan Boyle for this good news story.See the entry on the Heritage Pubs web site.

Merseyside, LION TAVERN, Liverpool. After some worries for the fate of this fine city-centre street-corner pub, it looks as though it is once again in safe hands with a secure future. Thanks for that. I'm off to Hull in the next few weeks (rugby league) so hope to be able to tick the White Hart (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/58350/).
