im thinking of taking a pub tennency and the company have told me im totally free of all beer bottles wines spirits ties i can buy my own but who is the cheapest beer supplier in the hull area ?
also whats the normal sky prices for a pub , can i install sky up stairs in the living quarters and pay the normal residential sky deal and show it downstairs in the pub? obviously saving me money but is this to risky.
the monthly rent works out about £1350 a month is this high for a local pub?
also how much is a keg of beer say carling from the brewerys.
i know most pubs are charging around £2.40 or more for a pint so if im free of tie i can obviousley charge my own prices but what is a cheap pint? i cant go to cheap obviously but would like a rough idea so basically i have to find the rent money every month so whats the best way or cheapest way to sell the beer to get this every month, any ideas or pub knowlege will be appreciated thanks mark

Try Scottish and Newcastle and maybe Inn-Bev or even COORS for your beer supplies .Like me you are a freehouse and can play one against the other on prices, freebies like t shirts, glasses, beer mats, towels ect.ect.
For a cheap beer try websters which I sell at £1-60 a pint
I don't reccomend real ales because they have a short lifespan and if you don't sell it you Lose it.

I have just retired after over thirty five years as a pub manager and tenant. In your message you say that the company with which you may deal with have told you that you are able to buy lager free from the company tie.I have never known this before, lager guinness and cider in kegs are normaly part of the tie,be very sure that you have this freedom from tie in your agreement. As regards your sky tv idea,if caught it will cost you more than your rent in fines, and it wont take long for other landlords who pay sky to report you. I would surgest that you do a lot more reserch before entering into this line of work. Wish you luck.
