Pleased with the quality this week ,BOTW goes to Pig & Porter Red Spider Rye in very good nick in The Holborn Whippet (http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/77473/) as part of a long session where everything was in top condition.

Next week looking thin.

BOTW Salopian Automaton. A punchy IPA at 7% but ludicrously easy to drink. Right up my rue.

Still on a diet but managed a few beers this week, best of the bunch was Harrogate Plum Porter made with real plums not an extract like some Staffordshire brewery whose name escapes me, mind you they produce about a 100 times more of the stuff than Harrogate does.

Ah ha, explains why I didn't get on with their Grand Reserve Plum Porter.

An average sort of week :-

Home Ales (Oldershaw) Robin Hood Pale Ale 3.8%
Holden's Black Country Bitter 3.8%
Enville Simpkiss 4.0%
Newby Wyke Orsino 4.0%
Windsor & Eton Windsor Knot 4.0%
Lenton Lane Altlas Stout 4.2%
Home Ales (Oldershaw) Maid Marian Blonde 4.2%
Enville Ginger 4.6%
Home Ales (Oldershaw) Little John Proper Ale 4.8%
Kelham Islan Vincent Black IPA 4.9%
Holden's Special 5.1%
Kelham Island Pale Rider 5.2%
North Riding US IPA 5.5%
Bristol Beer Factory Southville Hop IPA 6.5%

The easy winner is the Bristol Beer Factory Southville Hop IPA as tried for £3.60 in the Wolverhampton Great Western. I've had this one before and may well have made it BOTW but haven't seen it for a while.

Not much going on.
Purity Pure Gold
Timothy Taylor Golden Best
Fullers London Pride
Gales Seafarers
Lagunitas Daytime (bottle)
Lagunitas IPA (bottle)

The Golden Best was decent and the Pure Gold was ok as a session beer, but the bottled Lagunitas IPA hit the spot in my local, a lot more expensive than drinking it at home but the pub is the place to be.

Same as Moby - a quiet one:

XT 4 (3.8%)
Ramsgate Seasider (4.3%)
Mad Squirrel Sumo (4.7%) (keg)*

Not a lot to choose from here, but good beer is good beer, regardless of how it's served, and the winner was a hoppy beaut, taken here (https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/84562/):

BOTW: Mad Squirrel Sumo

Very late on parade, having been rather remiss in sorting this thread out for the last couple of weeks after being away on the Sundays.:o

This weeks offering is an old favourite. Cromarty Happy Chappy, a 4.1% easy drinking pale ale.
